Work the way you want to. Get work done with your co-workers and clients on a social work platform that you make your own. Work with any group of people inside a workspace and your entire company in your Employee Network. Podio's killer feature is that it lets people and teams build their own apps AND deploy them to mobile with no technical knowledge necessary. Podio is owned by Citrix.
To make all tools comparable for you, we have created a set of categories where every tool has its own description, whether it fullfills the categories or not. You can read a detailed description of each category on this page.
Podio ships with a high-level social stream "Activity Stream" for status updates and sharing information called the Employee Network (open to all users with the official organisational email address). Each 'Workspace' (workspaces can be organised around teams, projects, clients etc) has its own Activity Stream.
Podio is all about collaboration and sharing, using tools that best fit a team's preferred way of working. Podio users can build their own apps to suit their processes, or grab apps for free from the App Market. The more tailored the apps are, the better the fit and the more natural they are to use. Collaboration then comes easily. App items can of course be commented on to create contextual discussion.
Every Podio user has a Profile. Podio has a multilevel search so you can trawl the entire system or just a particular workspace or app.
Podio allows you to build your own apps. Even individuals can do this just for their own use. If an individual wants apps for managing marketing campaigns, client data, inventories, creative processes etc, they can just create one. Additionally Podio has comprehensive task management facilities, calendar integration (for example with Outlook and Google Calendar) and an email-in facility which is enormously powerful.
Podio is ideally suited to project management. Ready-made project management apps are available in the Podio App Market or users can build their own in a matter of minutes. Reporting "widgets" make it easy to get snapshots at a glance and a one-click 'Export to Excel' tool makes it easy to perform detailed analysis and get data out.
Podio's flexibility is its number one unique selling point. It's peerless in this regard. Furthermore, Podio's custom built apps are deployed to mobile seamlessly and without further development or configuration being required.
